Chip and Joanna were thrilled to complete this Fixer Upper for a young growing family. The clients found a small ranch style house that needed updates and a more open floor plan. Joanna enjoyed personalizing the space for her client with fun pops of color. She also freshened up their old built-ins by using a darker grey; a simple fix to outdated built-ins.
This fireplace surround needed an update so Joanna bought inexpensive brick pavers and had them installed in unique pattern to add interest. She had them painted white and then finished it off with a natural gray grout.
The existing fireplace mantle was seriously dated so Joanna had her carpenter build a cedar mantle to replace the old one. It cost under $250 for this simple update!
Where the existing stove was there used to be cabinets that blocked off the kitchen from the breakfast area. Joanna redesigned the space to have a more open feel and also added an island to really anchor the kitchen. The client wanted a kid friendly space more than she wanted an informal breakfast nook so Joanna put this kids table and bench in the room for the littles.
